evobyte originated from a re-naming of the IT consultancy firm Sourceindex with the aim of positioning the firm clearly in the field of hosting and cloud services.

The development of the name emphasizes the flexible service offered, with the server capacities – the space for bytes – scaled in an “evolutionary” manner according to the customer’s needs: hence “evobyte”. The design is deliberately objective, smart, technical.
